Blackstar Amps Announcement

We are very excited to announce that Adirondack Guitar is now a Blackstar amps dealer and will be carrying many of their incredibly versatile tube amps. Blackstar amps are known for delivering authentic tube tone with boutique amp looks in a variety of flavors from sparkly clean with lots of headroom, to Classic crunch and supersaturated modern overdrive for face melting leads. These Blackstar amps really are the total package!

The Blackstar HT-5 MKII is a 5watt tube combo with two footswitchable channels -- Clean and Overdrive -- that give you two distinct amp voices, with authentic studio quality Reverb and Blackstar’s patented ISF control that allows you to dial in the precise tube tone you are looking for. The Blackstar ISF circuit allows you to dial in the sonic characteristics of your favorite British and American tube amps, letting you find the authentic tube tone you've always heard in your head.

The HT-5 MKII also features a patented power reduction switch which effectively allows you to enjoy a full and toneful sound even at low volume. Blackstar did this by using a 12BH7 dual triode valve in push-pull configuration producing 5 Watts of output, which is rich in valve harmonics and compression, while the Power Reduction switch allows you to take it down to 0.5 Watts without compromising and tone at lower volume. This feature is perfect for driving the valve power stage at home or in the studio, or wherever high volume is impractical.

The HT-5R MkII also has a fully specified stereo speaker emulated output and USB audio output which allows you to easily record its award-winning valve tone. It also features the unique 4x12/1x12 voicing switch allowing you to change the tonal characteristics of the emulated signal between two emulated cabinet types. The stereo speaker emulated output can be used at the same time as the internal speaker/extension cab, providing headphone free monitoring or the choice to blend a mic'd speaker and emulated signals together, giving the HT-5 MkII unrivalled usability whether you are recording at home or in the studio.

In addition the speaker output can be turned off for "silent" practice or recording,  and a stereo MP3/Line in allows you to jam along to your favorite tracks. The Blackstar HT-5 MkII gives you everything you need for recording or practicing, making it ideal at home or in the studio.

With the HT Club 40 MKII Venue Series Tube Amp, Blackstar has come up with the perfect tone machine for club-sized venues. The Blackstar HT Club 40 features a new clean channel that offers true boutique amp tone with plenty of headroom, along with an overdrive channel that can deliver the high gain scream of an American tube style amp, as well as the punchy crunch tones of a classic British Tube amp, all in a handsome boutique amp package that will really stand out on stage.

Equipped with a 40W power section driven by 2 EL34 valves, and 2 ECC83 tubes in the preamp section, the HT Club 40 features two distinct, footswitchable channels. The new clean channel delivers groundbreaking and punchy clean tones with dynamics and tone controls that have been expanded to allow you to cut through the mix in live situations. Studio quality reverb and an effects loop give you all of the versatility you need to get the perfect sound combinations for your music.

The overdrive channel, equipped with Blackstar’s amazing ISF control allows you to dial in the exact type of tube sound you are looking for, from American high gain to classic British crunch, and any combination of these tones that you like.

The amazing Power Reduction feature uses an attenuator to attenuate 40 watts of power down to 4 watts (10%) to really drive the valves, easily providing all of the crunch and super saturated lead tones you will ever need from your amp. The power reduction feature also allows you to drive the valves and get the kind of face-melting tube scream that you want from a tube amp even at low volume, making this Blackstar perfect for recording and rehearsing as well.

This innovative 40 Watt valve combo amp also features digital Reverb with a special light/Dark switch, an effects loop with a level switch, speaker emulated output with 1x12/4x12 voicing, and USB connectivity for digital recording, making this a very versatile valve combo ideal for just about any situation.

New Arrivals from Vox, your ticket to classic British tube tone!

The Vox AC15C1 has been adored by music’s biggest names for decades for its distinctive ‘British’ tone and vintage Vox sound. Known as ‘the amp that started it all’, the AC15C1 Alnico delivers 15 Watts of pure British tube tone power through an authentic Alnico Blue speaker which faithfully delivers every decibel of that incredible Vox tube tone.

The secret sauce responsible for the Vox AC15C1’s sonic awesomeness is its pairing of preamp and power tubes. That incredibly responsive, compressed sound with its distinctive overdrive and sustain when cranked comes from the combination of three 12AX7 tubes in the preamp section, and a pair of EL84 tubes in the power section. When that classic signal is then pumped through a 12“ Alnico Blue speaker the result is pure magic!

Equipped with two footswitchable channels, Normal and Top Boost (footswitch sold separately), the AC15C1 allows you switch easily between crunchy rhythm tones and more compressed Top Boost lead tones, making this AC15C1  extremely versatile. The AC15C1 also comes equipped with footswitchable reverb and tremolo which are especially ambient and bright. Unlike other amps that seem to drown out the amp’s authentic tone with effects, the tremolo and reverb on this Vox AC15C1 only add a bright and ambient quality that must be played to be fully appreciated.

The AC10 was one of the first amplifiers to bear the VOX name, long adored for its ability to achieve rich, articulate tube tone at manageable volumes. Discontinued in 1965, the AC10 has become a highly coveted piece of VOX history and now VOX is proud to introduce the AC10C1, a modern take on the classic AC10 design.

The Vox AC10C1 is perfect for anyone who is looking for the classic Vox Top Boost tone in an amp that is more portable than the classic AC15, and more powerful than the Vox AC4. The new edition of the Vox AC10 now comes equipped with the Vox Top Boost circuit, which takes the classic Vox British Tube tone into new sonic territory, providing the player with an array of classic and modern amp tones.

Further refinements in this edition of the AC10 include a Master Volume control and Vox custom reverb. The master volume control allows you to create degrees of gain staging so you can dial in the perfect high gain tone for recording, rehearsing or playing in small venues. The Vox custom reverb provides a continuum of reverb sounds from very subtle, to ambient and spacious, all super smooth, never drowning out the amplifier’s natural tube tone.

Aesthetically, the AC10 is stunning, featuring the classic '60s-inspired diamond grille pattern with the distinguished black taurus amp covering featured on most Vox models. This little Vox delivers the boutique looks and amazing tone Vox amps are famous for, with volume and tone well above its weight class.

This little 4-Watt Vox is magic! How they get all of that fat tube tone into this little amp is an enduring mystery, but one that has guitarists coming back to it again and again. This Vox AC4C1-12 Custom Series 4 Watt Class A Combo Guitar Amp features two 12AX7 tubes in the preamp section, an EL84 (x1) in the power section and a 12 inch Celestion speaker, as well as the classic Vox styling that makes it look as mesmerizing as it sounds. With its cool vintage aesthetics this Vox really stands out on stage, and with its easy to use controls, you will have no problem grabbing the tones you have been looking for from this compact and authentic Vox tube amp.
