New and Used Amps From Vox

Many guitarists prefer the sound of a tube amplifier, but the high priced components that go into making them gives them a premium price tag. For years solid state amps have been a reasonably priced alternative to expensive tube amps. The problem, however, still remains that so many musicians prefer the sound and response of tube amps.

In an effort to solve this problem, many companies have introduced hybrid products that put solid state and tube technologies together. In 2016, Vox developed the AV or ‘Analog Valve’ or ‘Valvetronix’ series of amplifiers which were designed to simulate the sound and response of an all tube amp by employing a series of tube-powered hybrid circuits.

The Vox AV15 Modeling Combo Amp is a single input, single channel amplifier powered by a 12AX7 tube, with one half of the tube powering the preamp section, and the other serving as the driver for a 15watt solid state power amplifier. The multi-circuit all analog preamp section models 8 different distinctive tube amp tones which can be modified using the valve stage section’s bright, fat, bias and reactor switches.

Vox AV15 Analog Controls

Built-in effects, which include chorus, delay and reverb, add depth to the tube valve’s already rich tone, allowing the player to enhance their sound further. Additional features like a sealed cabinet design and a retro-inspired aesthetic establish the AV Series as one of the most exciting, and unique offerings in the VOX lineup.

This little Vox is famous for its ability to deliver classic Vox tube sound even at low volume, making it a perfect amp for home or studio use. Introduced in 1961, this little wonder has been one of the most popular amps in the Vox lineup for its ability toserve up an array of authentic VOX tones through its single Celestion 10” speaker.

Want to go bigger? A speaker output allows you to pair the AC4C1-Blue with an external speaker cabinet for increased volume and sonic versatility. This classic 4 watt Vox amp delivers all of the warm clean tones and fat crunch tones you would ever need, and pairs extremely well with your pedal board if you’re looking for a more modern tone.

With its cool vintage aesthetics that make it really stand out onstage, and easy to use controls, you will have no problem grabbing the tones you have been looking for in this compact and affordable authentic Vox tube amp.

This left handed Spector Bantam 4 Euro Series short scale bass comes equipped with a number of premium appointments designed for player comfort, superior playability and thunderous tone. Featuring a highly resonant, chambered Alder body in the popular Spector NS body style, and a short scale neck that is lightweight and extremely comfortable to play, this lefty Spector is hand crafted in Czechoslovakia and available in extremely limited quantities!

The lefty Spector Bantam 4 has a silky hard maple neck with a 30“ scale length which reduces string tension, making this bass incredibly easy to play. The 22-fret Rosewood fretboard has flat 16“ radius and the deep inset neck joint makes playing at the highest register of the fretboard easier than ever. The maple neck is fortified with Graphite support rods, making its intonation extremely accurate, while the professional grade Spector hardware, including a Spector locking bridge, ensure top notch tuning stability no matter what style you play.

Though the Bantam 4 has a short scale and chambered body designed for comfort and superior playability, EMG active electronics ensure that it still has the seismic tone that you would expect from a Spector bass. Outfitted with two EMG 35DC pickups and an EMG BTS active circuit, the lefty Bantam 4 gives you total control of your sound. With independent volume controls for each pickup, and treble boost/cut and bass boost/cut controls, you can dial in the exact sound you are looking for no matter what style of music you play.
