What Do We Mean When We Say: Made in Fullerton?

A few months back you may remembera piece on the G&L custom shop that we published to make our customers aware of the incredible variety of custom order options available from G&L at the Custom Shop level. In that article a distinction was drawn between the G&L custom shop and the customization options that are available to you when you order a USA Made in Fullerton G&L guitar or bass.

Made in Fullerton models are all made in Leo Fender’s historic Fullerton, California factory and are available at several levels of customization. While they are not ‘G&L Custom Shop’ guitars per se, Made in Fullerton G&L guitars deliver unsurpassed value in their price category. We have been trying to figure out a way to show our customers all of the order options that are available to them when they order a G&L USA Made in Fullerton guitar or bass. Today we preparing a new ordering system that will allow you to customize your Made in Fullerton G&L guitar online with unprecedented ease.

Each Made in Fullerton model is listed on our website at the ‘Standard’ level of specification. These models all have hard rock maple necks with Caribbean Rosewood fingerboards, nickel/silver jumbo frets, 3-ply white pickguards, all bone nuts and sealed back G&L tuners. The standard bridge specs depend on the model. ASAT Classics have a traditional boxed steel bridge with brass saddles; other ASAT and Fallout models have G&L lock bridge with brass saddles; All Legacy, Comanche, and S-500 variants have the G&L dual-fulcrum vibrato systems with brass saddles and a brass block, and 4 and 5 string basses have G&L saddle lock bridges with brass saddles.

In addition to the standard specifications listed for each Made in Fullerton Standard model, there are additional custom order options that allow you to customize your USA Made G&L guitar or bass.
