ESP/LTD Preview: New Lefties Available in 2019

ESP builds guitars for players who won't accept compromises in their instrument's ability to showcase their talents. Built for serious musicians of all experience levels, ESP/LTD is offering a variety of new lefty models for 2019. New releases include lefty Eclipse models with unique new finishes, lefty Horizon series models with updated aesthetics and a variety of premium features, and a new Arrow, Sparrowhawk and TE-1000 (Tele shape) with an Evertune bridge. Models feature both active and passive electronics, and many now feature push/pull coil splitting for optimal tonal versatility. You can see and read more about all of these guitars at ESP/LTD’s website, but read on below for a quick preview of many of ESP/LTD’s new lefty releases for 2019.

Quick note:  Most of these lefties are still pending release to stores and are therefore unavailable to photograph, so we have had to use flipped images to give you an idea of what they will look like once they arrive. Once images of these lefties are available, we will post them on our website!


New ESP and E-II Models for 2019


ESP Left Handed E-II Arrow-NT Electric Guitar in Snow White and Black Silver Fade

The left handed ESP E-II Arrow-NT was designed for high performance and bold aesthetics that will surely stand out from the crowd. The Arrow-NT, like all E-II models, is hand built in the ESP factory in Japan. Featuring neck-thru-body construction and a set of active EMG pickups - EMG 85 (neck) and EMG 81 (bridge) - the lefty E-II Arrow-NT delivers a tone that is just as bold and aggressive as its looks. Made with components of the highest quality, the ESP Arrow-NT features a highly resonant Alder body and a 3 piece thin-U maple neck with an Ebony fretboard, and premium appointments such as Gotoh locking tuners, a Gotoh TOM bridge and Schaller straplocks. Available in both Snow White and Black Silver Fade (pictured below) finishes, the left handed ESP E-II Arrow-NT is also available in a Floyd Rose version, and comes with a hardshell ESP case.


ESP Left Handed E-II Eclipse Electric Guitar in Buckeye Burl Maple Top Blue Natural Fade and Snow White

As one of the best looking and best sounding single cutaway guitars ever made, the left handed E-II Eclipse was designed for professional caliber players and is perfect for the stage or the studio. Hand made in the ESP factory in Japan, the left handed ESP E-II Eclipse is now available in an amazing Buckeye Burl Maple Top in a Blue Natural Fade finish that must be seen to be believed, as well as a classic Snow White finish, a multi-binding on the body, neck, and headstock. Beyond these aesthetics, the E-II Eclipse is made with premium components like a bone nut, Schaller Straplocks, Gotoh locking tuners, and a Gotoh TOM bridge and tailpiece, making this a high performance guitar that looks and sounds amazing. Most impressive of all is the set of EMG 57TW/66TW humbucker pickups that are set up for coil splitting push-pull controls on both volume knobs, giving this Eclipse an incredible tonal versatility. Built with set-thru construction on a mahogany body and mahogany neck, the lefty E-II Eclipse delivers tremendous tone and incredible sustain, and includes an ESP hardshell case.


ESP Left Handed E-II Horizon NT-II Tiger Eye Amber Fade

If you like to play with a lot of sustain, you are going to love the lefty ESP E-II Horizon, available for the first time in a Tiger Eye Amber Fade finish. Built with neck-thru-body construction and featuring a Gotoh Tune-O-Matic (TOM) bridge with string-thru design, the latest version of the southpaw E-II Horizon is available with a sleek Mahogany body with maple top and Tiger Eye Amber Fade finish. The ultra thin, easy to play neck is 3-piece maple with a Mahogany fretboard and set up for all types of playing, including tight rhythms and scorching leads. The intense sustain and amazing tone also comes from the electronics which include an EMG 66TW in the neck and an EMG 57TW in the bridge, both in brushed chrome, and each offering discrete coil-splitting controls for each pickup, allowing you to access a variety of tones perfect for a vast range of musical styles. With components like a bone nut, Schaller straplocks, and Gotoh locking tuners, you know that the left handed E-II Horizon is a high performance machine. Includes ESP hardshell case.


ESP Left Handed E-II Horizon-III FR Black Cherry Fade

This new, bold variation on the now classic ESP horizon shape features an extended, beveled upper horn and a shortened lower horn, improving the player’s comfort when reaching for notes at the highest register of the neck. Available in a killer Black Cherry Fade finish over a quilted maple top, the lefty E-II Horizon III FR features a Mahogany body, a 3-piece maple neck with neck thru body design, and a 24-fret Ebony fretboard. With premium appointments like Floyd Rose Original bridge, Schaller straplocks, and Gotoh locking tuners, and a set of Seymour passive Duncan SH-2n (neck) and Custom 5 (bridge) pickups with push-pull coil splitting capabilities, the E-II Horizon III is one of the most responsive and versatile passive guitars on the market today. ESP Left Handed Gary Holt G Holt EC-FR - Liquid Metal Lava and White


Gary Holt, the legendary thrash metal guitarist from Slayer and Exodus, has teamed up with the experts at ESP to create an incredible thrash metal monster. Featuring a highly resonant single cutaway Mahogany body with set-thru neck construction, and a single piece mahogany neck with 22-fret ebony fretboard, this signature G Holt eclipse model is built for speed and fury. With an ultra thin ‘U’ shaped neck, and a cutaway and neck joint sculpted for ease of access, the Gary Holt Signature EC-FR plays like a dream along the entire length of its neck, and delivers a tone that ranges from scorching hot to just plain lethal. The killer tone that the lefty Gary Holt EC-FR delivers comes from its combination of active EMG pickups and highly resonant tonewoods. With EMG 81 and 89 pickups in a custom red casing, and independent volume controls for each of the pickups, and a push/pull coil splitting function on the neck pickup giving you complete control of the gain and tone, allowing you to completely control your sound. To round out this awesome guitar’s capabilities, ESP has added a Floyd Rose Original tremolo system with a locking nut and Gotoh tuners to ensure tuning stability. Schaller strap lock strap buttons make it safe to thrash about as much as you want without fear of coming undone.

ESP/LTD Left Handed EC-1001T CTM Silver Sunburst Satin and Snow White

The LTD 1000 series is one of ESP’s most popular series, offering professional caliber tone, feel and aesthetics at prices that working musicians can afford.  The latest lefty LTD EC-1001T CTM is no exception, offering the kind of high quality components and next level craftsmanship that you would expect to find in much more expensive instruments. Featuring a resonant Mahogany body with Maple cap, chambered for weight relief, and a 3-piece maple neck with neck-thru-body construction and 22-fret Macassar ebony fingerboard, and multi-ply body/neck/headstock binding on body top and back, the lefty LTD EC-1001T CTM delivers next level performance and amazing sound. Bolstered by the chambered Mahogany body and Maple cap, the LTD EC1001T CTM’s sound is powered by a ‘twin’ set of EMG 66TW/EMG 57TW pickups with brushed black chrome covers, being offered on a production guitar for the very first time. LTD Left Handed H-1001FR Violet Shadow Fade

The lefty LTD H-1001FR is a set-thru neck design with a Horizon style arched mahogany body with quilted maple top in a gorgeous Violet Shadow Fade finish. With the addition of a Floyd Rose SE floating bridge (with stainless steel screws for enhanced stability), the popular lefty H-1001 model is ideal for expressive performance techniques. Including high-end components such as Grover tuners, and direct-mounted Seymour Duncan Sentient pickup in the neck position for wide dynamic range and excellent articulation, and an aggressive Seymour Duncan Pegasus in the bridge that's highly responsive and harmonically rich, with push-pull coil splitting, the. Available in Violet Shadow Fade finish.


LTD SPARROWHAWK BLACK

The LTD Signature Sparrowhawk, in a classic black finish, is the LTD signature guitar for Bill Kelliher of the American Metal band Mastodon. The Sparrowhawk offers a solid yet comfortable feeling Mahogany body with a highly resonant Maple cap and set-thru neck construction with an ultra smooth neck joint for easy access to the highest frets. Featuring a set of Lace Sensor “Divinators” LTD pickups with matte black covers, specially designed for the Bill Kelliher Signature Series models, the LTD lefty Sparrowhawk also features push-pull coil-splitting controls wired separately for each pickup, delivering a wide array of tones making it perfect for Mastodon’s progressive metal sound. With a three-piece mahogany neck with silky satin finish, a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with block inlays, and a TonePros locking TOM bridge and tailpiece, the Lefty Sparrowhawk delivers monster tone and copious amounts of sustain. The Lefty Sparrowhawk is available in a classic Black finish (pictured below).

 

LTD left Handed TE-1000 EverTune Black Natural Burst

 

The new LTD TE-1000 EverTune is the first Tele shape guitar put out by ESP that offers the innovative EverTune constant tension bridge, which ensures that the guitar will stay in perfect tune in almost any situation with incredibly accurate intonation at every point on the fretboard, making this a great guitar for working musicians who are on the road and need a guitar with excellent tuning stability. The TE-1000 EverTune has a 3-piece Maple neck with set-thru construction on a Mahogany body with Flamed Maple top in a killer Black natural Burst finish. The key to the lefty TE-1000‘s tone is its electronics. Featuring the new EMG 57TW/66TW pickup set with push/pull coil-splitting capabilities on each individual pickup, the Lefty TE-1000 offers a wide range of tones suitable for all styles of music.
