The Left Handed Reverend Double Agent W features a body made of highly resonant Korina, a tonewood used in all Reverend guitars which is largely responsible for their lively and responsive tone that is rich in harmonics. The roasted maple neck and fretboard is a thing of beauty. Heat treated to 300° F to remove sugars, moisture, and impurities, the roasted maple neck is light and stable and has a gorgeous vintage caramel color.
The key to the Double Agent’s versatility is its combination of proprietary Reverend pickups, designed by Joe Naylor to deliver a unique combination of sounds. The Double Agent features a 9A5 in the neck position which is like a P90 but wound to be much hotter, twangier, and more responsive, and a HA5 in the bridge which is a humbucker designed to deliver a ballsy Rock sound, giving the Double Agent its vaunted “balls-meets-twang” sound.
Hardware includes a Wilkinson WVS50 IIK Tremolo system with a boneite nut and Reverend Pin-lock tuners to keep it all in tune no matter what style of music you play. Controls include volume, tone, and the bass contour control which is a passive bass roll-off which is great for tightening up the low end, essentially revoicing the pickups.
The Reverend Double Agent W is perfect for anyone who has ever wanted a guitar that can switch easily between a variety of pickup voicings without sacrificing volume or attack. With a unique combination of pickups and Reverend’s bass contour control, you can easily roll up a fat humbucker bridge tone or a sweet and bluesy P90 tone, and everything in between.
