Remarkably Versatile Offset Electric, Fulfilling Leo Fender’s Vision of What a Classic Surf Guitar Can Be
Was $1549- On sale now! The Left Handed USA made G&L Doheny represents the evolution of Leo Fender’s vision of what the classic surf guitar can be. The key to the Doheny’s revolutionary sound is the addition of Leo Fender’s wide-bobbin MFD™ single coil pickups in the bridge and neck positions with the PTB (passive treble and bass) tone circuit that allows you to control the tone of the guitar as desired. Wrapped with traditional Formvar wire, the MFD™ jazz pickups offer a less twangy tone than previous versions of the surf guitar, giving the Doheny the output and sonic range perfect for today’s music scene.
The Left Handed G&L Doheny features an Alder body in a traditional surf green finish with a hard Maple neck and 21-fret Chechen fingerboard. The neck shape is G&L’s Modern Classic which is fairly slim with a mild taper, making it extremely comfortable to play. The Hardware includes Leo Fender’s finest tremolo system to date, a dual fulcrum tremolo system (or optional saddle-lock) with sealed-back tuning keys, and natural bone nut for enhanced tuning stability and improved sustain.

Taking the Classic Surf Guitar into New Sonic Territory
The Left Handed G&L Doheny takes the offset bolt-on guitar into brand new sonic territory thanks to the addition of G&L’s newly designed Magnetic Field Design™ or MFD jazz pickups with PTB passive tone circuit that allows you to dial the twang up or down as desired. The result is a surf guitar with more jangle than twang, delivering a full and warm tone that is rich in harmonics. Don’t worry, the twang is still there, but the Doheny also delivers more in output, featuring greater sonic range than its predecessors, making it an excellent option for just about any style of music.
