The ESP/LTD EC-401FR combines aggressive tone with classic looks to create a workhorse guitar that will suit any hard rock or metal player perfectly. Featuring a single cutaway Mahogany body with modified Les Paul styling, and neck thru body construction, the ESP/LTD 401FR offers a warm and aggressive hard rock tone that is rich in harmonics, offering impressive all-day sustain.
The 3-piece Mahogany neck is a soft ‘U’ shape perfect for all forms of metal and hard rock lead and rhythm playing. Featuring a 24-fret Rosewood fretboard with decorative Abalone flag inlays, the neck is both solid and extremely comfortable, adding to the overall richness of the Left Handed EC-401 FR's tone and the quality of its sustain. The hardware includes a Tune-O-Matic Bridge and Tailpiece with Grover tuners and molded nut to ensure that everything stays in tune.
The key to the EC-401 FR's aggressive tone is its active electronics. Featuring a set of EMG humbucker pickups (EMG 60 in the bridge position and EMG 81 in the neck), the Left Handed EC-401FR delivers a crushing rhythm tone with a scorching hot lead tone that is sure to capture everyone’s attention. At low volumes, however, these same pickups clean up nicely, delivering a warm clean tone that is perfect for just about any style of music.
With the EC-401FR, ESP/LTD has created a workhorse hard rock/heavy metal guitar with super aggressive tone and a host of premium features that is still affordable to students and working musicians. Using quality tone woods like Mahogany and Rosewood, quality active pickups and rock-solid neck thru body design, the ESP/LTD EC-401FR is an incredibly well appointed high quality instrument that is ready to rock the moment it leaves the factory floor!
